JUST FOUND OUT TODAY THAT OUR NEWBORN GIRL HAS GA1. WE HAVE ANOTHER APPT. ON MONDAY TO START WITH THE DIETICIAN. I HAVEN'T SEEN ANYTHING HERE ABOUT GA1. WHAT CAN ANYONE TELL ME ABOUT THIS? ALSO WILL BE TESTING OUR 5 YR OLD BOY ON MONDAY TO SEE IF HE HAS IT AS WELL. HE HAS MANY SYMPTOMS. HE WAS DIAGNOSED AT 2 YRS WITH CEREBRAL PALSY, BUT MAY HAVE BEEN MISDIAGNOSED. DOES ANYONE HAVE MORE THAN ONE CHILD WITH ANY OF THESE DISORDERS? HAS ANYONE SEEN A REDUCTION IN SYMPTOMS AFTER DIET CHANGE?

My son has 3MGA, so I don't know much about GA1, but I can help connect you to other families that do. Scott Baio and his wife Renee' have a website that helps families with metabolic disorders. The website is www.baileybaioangelfoundation.com, other GA1 families are on there. You can read their story and see why they started this foundation.
